Notes

This was probably Amy Hamilton Thompson, who had been a leading figure in the earlier pageant in 1923.  On that occasion, others were also involved in writing the pageant script; it seems likely that this pageant followed a similar pattern.

Summary

This was a follow-up event to the first Northumbrian pageant in 1923, a full entry for which can be found here. Like its predecessor, this pageant was held in the Theatre Royal under the auspices of the Church of England. It seems also to have taken very largely the same form, the pageant narrative once again culminating in the late eighteenth century.
